3. Location, Location, Location 

• It’s important to really think about how close you want to be to your workplace, your kids' school, lake access, and other places that are important to you. Also, spend time in the area and get a feel for the neighborhood you're considering.   

4. Size and Layout 

• Consider how many bedrooms and bathrooms you'll need for all of your loved ones. Picture yourself preparing meals in the kitchen.  

• Don’t forget about storage - you need plenty of space for all your precious belongings! Is there a garage? Is it big enough to store all your vehicles, tools, and toys?  

• Consider how much outdoor space in needed. Is there room for a garden? A fence for your dog? Think about what is most important to you and your family.  

5. Check the Condition 

• Before you fall head over heels for a potential home, make sure to give it a thorough inspection! Take a closer look at the roof, foundation, HVAC system, electrical wiring, plumbing, and appliances to ensure everything is in tip-top shape.  

• Keep an eye out for any signs of wear and tear, water damage, or unwelcome guests (i.e., pests).
